Jennifer Michelle VanEtten, age 16, of Big Rock, IL died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Advocate-Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.     

Jennifer was a member of the sophomore class at Hinckley-Big Rock High School and a flutist in the school band.

Jennifer is survived by her parents Michael J and Sheryl Ann nee Allison VanEtten, a sister Crystal VanEtten at home; maternal grandmother Sharon Kay Stankwich of Rockford, IL, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Joseph Stankwich, paternal grandparents Harold and Jacquelyn VanEtten and an uncle Harry VanEtten.

A gathering of family/friends to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from Noon to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Leon Burson Post #395  510 East Dearborn St Plano, IL. 

Cremation took place at American Crematory in Oswego, IL. A memorial fund to assist the family with expenses involved may be directed to Jenny VanEtten Fund C/O BMO Harris Bank 2095 Harris Bank 2095 West Route 34 Plano, IL 60545.
