Kay A. nee Schweigert Small died Monday, October 22, 2012 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL with her loving family at her side.
Kay was born December 24, 1943 in Kankakee, IL the daughter of the late Orville L. and Hattie J nee Huizenga Schweigert. Kay was united in marriage to William B. Small on September 12, 1964 in Danforth, IL.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, former member of the Kendall County Republican Woman’s Club, Oswego Public Library Board, and Oswego Presbyterian Church Session. She had also been a Campfire Girls Leader and President of the Indianapolis J C Wives.
Kay was a teacher at heart and touched many lives in her short time with us. She was a graduate of Aurora University with a BS in Elementary Education and taught Elementary School at Parkview Christian Academy for 10 years. She loved to garden, read, cook and play bridge with friends.
She is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Julia (Paul) Johnson of Edinboro, PA, and son William (Beth) Small II of Crystal Lake, IL, her grandchildren Abigail & Samantha Johnson and Lillian and Lucas Small, her sisters Janel Greer of Greensboro, NC and Carol Perkins of Tucson, AZ.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 4:00 PM until the funeral service, conducted by Rev Phil Sheets, at 7:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 South Douglas Road Oswego, IL. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Danforth Reformed Church 401 Church Street Danforth, IL immediately followed by interment in the Danforth Cemetery Danforth, IL.
Memorials may be directed in Kay’s memory to the charity of the donor's choice.

Julia & family, so sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mom last December, and I miss her dearly. But I know she is with Jesus now and no longer suffering - that is consolation that makes it a blessing. My prayers for you and your family.

Bill, Sending our sincere condolences to you and your family. Kay was the nicest neighbor (as well as yourself). You welcomed us when we first moved to Oswego and we thank you for that. It was nice to know that if we needed something you were both there. May God Bless you and your family during these difficult times.
