Help Save Pets animal rescue is in need of new volunteers for our Oswego location.  Help Save Pets is located inside The Oswego Animal Hospital, 1280 Rt. 34, Oswego.  

We need volunteers to work as Adoption Counselors.  Adoption Counselors will meet with prospective families, show animals and guide people through the adoption process.  You need strong communication skills for this position and you will be interacting with both dogs and cats.

At this time we do not accommodate community service hours and our volunteers must be 18 and over.  We are looking for long-term volunteers.  

After we recieve your application to work with Help Save Pets, you will be contacted (via email is the best) and invited to attend a training orientation.  Once the orientation has been completed, you will work under a Mentor volunteer for several  hours until you can become independent and work on your own.

At this time, any volunteers who apply will need to be trained at our Plainfield Location and work a few hours there before moving over and working in Oswego.  Our Plainfield location is at the Animal Care Center, 14411 S Rt 59 in Plainfield at 59 and 126.

Generally, the hours of volunteering are Saturdays and Sundays 10-2pm and Mondays-Fridays 10-7pm.  There are limitations to new volunteers in the beginning as we will need to schedule an accommodating Mentor to be with you while you are learning.  You can work in blocks of 2-6 hours at a time, two or three times a month or MORE if you like!

Our organization rescues and adopts out 800-1000 homeless pets every year.  We have four facilities in Illinois and have hundreds of volunteers, foster care providers and supporters.  We hope you will join us!
