Cabernet Cabaret Latest Fund-raiser for Arranmore Center for the Arts
Saturday's event will include artistic performances and wine provided by Cooper's Hawk.
Shannon Greene-Robb will provide a sneak-peek into her vision for Arranmore Center for the Arts as a Ravinia West this weekend.
ACA's Cabernet Cabaret fund-raiser is set for 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, offering an evening of eclectic music performed under the stars accompanied by a selection of wine. Award-winning Chicagoland performers also will present selections from the band Chicago to Lady Gaga, as well as original, never before performed pieces, said Greene-Robb, ACA's founder and chairwoman.
Attendees are invited to BYOP—bring your own party. Similar to Ravinia, patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic to match their taste, from casual to elegant. Chairs, small tables, blankets and whatever else enhances the experience, are encouraged, said Greene-Robb.
Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants will provide a variety of wines to sample. They open their new Naperville location later this summer near Interstate 88 and Naperville Road.
“An outdoor venue is needed in the area. This event is a taste of what will be,” said Greene-Robb, who hopes to transform Arranmore Farm into a "regional arts campus" that includes an "outdoor theatre facility."
Katra Knoernschild has worked closely with Greene-Robb organizing Cabernet Cabaret. She has been involved in the operations and programming – all on a volunteer basis.
This is an opportunity to get together with friends and family, listen to fantastic artists, have a picnic and relax, Knoernschild said, adding, "This is an exciting and rare opportunity.”
Tickets are $25 and include wine provided by Cooper's Hawk. Tickets are available at the Cabernet Cabaret site. Scheduled performers include Liam Davis, Gerald Dowd, Lara Filip, Cory Goodrich, Greene-Robb, Michael Mahler, Johanna McKinzie Miller and Keely Vasquez
"When I learned of Greene-Robb’s vision for ACA, I had this feeling inside that I had to become involved and make this happen – see it come to fruition," Knoernschild said. “I believe in the goals of ACA and feel there is no better way to spend my time then helping them bring arts to our community."
ACA's vision supports many different facets of education and experiencing art as both a performer and audience member. Components of the ACA vision include: a large indoor performance theatre, an outdoor theatre, a sculpture garden and an art gallery.
In April, ACA presented InspireED, displaying an educational component of ACA’s vision, said Greene-Robb. InspireED paired Oswego students with artistic professionals and then showcased the results. Cabernet Cabaret introduces people to one aspect of the performance side of ACA’s vision, Greene-Robb said.
ACA will host a “last hurrah” family carnival the weekend of Aug. 18 at Oswego High School’s south entrance.
“It’s a down-home carnival” with rides, art projects for the kids and a “spectacular surprise,” Greene-Robb said.

Thank you Summer for a great article, and thank you to all of the Staff at the Patch for your hard work and dedication.
I do hope that everyone can make it out to Cabernet Cabaret on Saturday night to enjoy the evening with us. The weather forecast is shaping up for a great night with Highs in the upper 70's, and a low near 60.
We recommend purchasing tickets in advance, particularly for credit card holders due to spotty/latent connectivity on site that could cause delays. Gates open at 6:30PM for parking & advance ticket holders. 7PM for pay-at-gate.

I just wanted to send out a Big thank you to all of the Volunteers that helped make last night's Cabernet Cabaret a huge success!
We had an incredible crowd, and even after the live show ended guests stayed with us, listening to music, while everyone celebrated. It was truly a night to remember for our area.
I hope everyone takes a moment to visit arranmorearts.org to sign-up for information on future events.
