Daniel Lee Walsh, 81, Wrote Poetry and Worked as an Accountant

A gathering of family and friends for Daniel Walsh will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. until a memorial service at 3 p.m.

Daniel Lee Walsh, 81 years, of Montgomery, IL died Monday, May 20, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 11, 1931 in Valparaiso, IN the son of the late Melford Lee and Lois Ada nee Beehler Walsh.  Dan attended Valparaiso and Ball State University attaining a degree in accounting.

After moving to Aurora, IL in 1961 he went to work as an accountant, in quality control at Stephens Adamson and Aurora Bearing Co prior to his retirement in 1996.

Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years Sharon Kay nee McHugh; three children Mark (Sandy) Walsh of Oswego, IL, Kim (Mary) Walsh of Oswego, IL, Dana (Jeffrey) Linden of Montgomery; eight grandchildren Ryan (Melissa) Walsh, Corey (Kelly) Walsh, Brandon (Sarah) Walsh, Daniel Walsh, Michael Walsh, Patrick (Erin) Linden, Rachel (Matt) Linden, Andrea Linden; eleven great grandchildren, Vada Marshall, Tyler, Madison, Jake, Christian, Carter, Ethan, Rocco and William Walsh, Sophie & Shawn Linden ; two brothers Melvin (Jeannine) Walsh of North Aurora, IL, Loren (Jeanne) Walsh of Fort Myers, FL; two sisters-in-heart Shirley Walsh of Batavia, IL, Martha (John) Kelly of Springfield, IL; a brother-in-law Micheal (Edwina) McHugh; also several nieces and nephews.  

Dan enjoyed fishing, writing poetry of which he had several published. He was an avid sports fan with a special interest in Oswego and Aurora University teams. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family whom will miss him the very much.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 11:00 AM until a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL.

Cremation was accorded the wish of the family with burial at a later date.For additional information 630/554-8484.
