Dunkin' Donuts Coming Closer to Route 34 Opening

Drive-through is almost complete.

Remember how back in January there was news of a Dunkin’ Donuts coming to town?

For Dunkin' fans, it's almost time to begin celebrating.

Oswego lost its Gas City Dunkin’ Donuts in May 2011 when the location on Routes 34 and 71 was bought out by Speedway. Plans have been in the works to build a Dunkin’ in the Prairie Market shopping center along Route 34.

The Dunkin’ will be situated at the east end of the retail strip that also houses Chipotle, Vision Works, Sport Clips and Jersey Mike's.

Rob Mittman, director of marketing for The Hari Group, which is overseeing the new Dunkin’, said that currently the drive-through is almost done and the plumbing is roughed in.

“We are hoping for a late fall opening,” he said.

A Dunkin Donuts needs to open on the west side on Orchard. If Villa Nova doesn't open this would be another great place for a Dunkin Donuts.

Agree! We need more restaurants on the west side of Orchard! Seems like the one in Montgomery and now the new one on Rt 34 are VERY close to one another... What ever happened to the Taco Bell/Long John Silvers that was supposed to be built on Orchard??

If Villa Nova doesn't open, I'd be happy with a Taco Bell...you know they'd get a lot of business being next to the high school.

Don't hold your breath....McDonalds about the only thing doing great on Orchard. When the subdivisions went dry on that side all the Hopes for the Business Owners got a little dicey.

But wait !!!!!! When it opens, we need to know what organizations they donate to , so we can make a big stink over the ones we don't want them to donate to. We could even walk up and down the sidewalk with others of our mindset holding signs and yelling at cars to not buy any products 'cause if you do you are a hater.!!

And then tons of Sunday morning Christians solely interested in looking religious can patronize the place frequently! However, I'm guessing Dunkin Donuts is smart enough to keep their mouth shut on that front.

And with that said. Dunkin Donuts, meh.

Orchard gets a lot of traffic going to the expressway and McDonalds does not open up early! So for the early birds going North you have to go over into Aurora off of Galena. Subway on Orchard is still going strong but again nothing opens up early to get a cup of coffee. Lets get a fresh bagel shop like Einsteins. Since we are making a wish list for Orchard here it goes---Costco or SAMs club, Popeyes and/or Boston Market. Montgomery is doing well next to Walmart so come on Oswego lets get going in Orchard!

Popeye's used to be located in the shopping center with Jewel at Rt30 and Douglas but closed. Years ago there used to be a Boston Market where the Shell gas station is at Rt30 and Douglas. I doubt these businesses will come back.
