Felony Charges Filed Against Woman Who Alleged Rape Tuesday
Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, faces three counts of felony disorderly conduct.
The woman who told police a uniformed man raped her in a cornfield at gunpoint has been charged with filing a false police report, authorities said.
Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, will be taken into custody with a bail of $10,000 when she finishes treatement at an area hospital, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office. She faces three felonies.
"During the course of the investigation, detectives from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office evaluated the physical evidence recovered during the investigation, photographs, leads developed during the investigation and witness statements, including the initial statements from Brown," the news release states. "After an intensive review of the investigation, detectives determined that the facts of the case were not consistent with Brown's allegations."
Authorities announced Thursday that they did not believe a sexual assault nor a police imposter were involved in an incident.
The woman had told police she was driving on Griswold Springs Road about 0.25 miles west of Little Rock Road when a man driving alone in a blue Ford Crown Victoria pulled her over, according the news release issued Wednesday. After walking to her vehicle, the man pulled a mask over his face, pulled out a handgun and ordered the woman to walk to the cornfield next to the road, the news release stated. There, he beat and sexually assaulted her.
The police were called at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday.

Lets hope for the best for eveyone involved including this young lady. I am really sad about the many crazy remarks made about this case and what people have said about our local law enforcement as well who are often faced with very difficult circumstances and often have a very tough job to do that we all need and should respect. Lets have the facts play out and the legal system do what it is designed to do. In these difficult times especially, we all need to work together and help each other and not be so judgemental when we know little or nothing of the facts that people are faced with today.

Send her away for 90yrs. That is the sentence for 3 class x-felony charges she was willing to send ANY MAN (you or I) away for just to keep her STORY going. If it was you or I that fit her profile we would have to spend thousands of $$ defending ourselves and even then, looked at differently for the rest of our lives!! I hope she lost her lawsuit againt the poor 74yr old woman that she said hit her in the Wal-Mart parking lot back in July. She walked in the back of a car as it was backing out of a parking space. How do you think that 74yr old woman feels!!

I find it disturbing that files have been charged so quickly against this woman. Not every crime scene has evidence otherwise we wouldn't have so many unsolved cases. If this lady did lie and is still being treated at a hospital it would seem she needs some serious help. I'm not sure jail time is the right answer.

It siad in the original report that she was treat AND released from the hospital the same day this happened. I think she thought that if she went back to the hospital, the cops could not GET her for her LIE.

25 years ago I was raped in sandwich. It took over a month to catch him and a year to go to court. The sandwich police stuck by me through the whole thing. Please don't think for one minute that the police don't do there jobs. It might take awhile but they get results. . The girl will pay the price for lieing and hopefully get help too.

I don't think she should get to walk away from this if she did lie. It seems the public jumped the gun and started bashing the police and now I feel like in response the State Attorney may be jumping the gun on this lady. She is wrong for filing the police report, costing taxpayers money, and wasting resources. However, she may need some serious help and that she be looked into before sending her to prison.

She can get help during the sentencing phase after she is convicted. That's the only way she will get help if she really needs it, I am willing to bet that she will not seek it out on her let alone stay with a program.

You are right on that one. They want convictions and it doesn't matter if you are guilty or not. Tons of taxpayer dollars are spent on prosecuting cases that ultimately get settled just because the accused doesn't want to take their chances with a jury. Once you are arrested, count on $10,000 in legal fees, it's the lawyers that win here.

It states above "when she finishes treatment" and it was previously stated by the media that she was treated and released for the "assault related injuries"...she may be in for an evaluation not related to the "alleged assault" but for a psychological evalutaion for her accusations...just a thought!

lmao at yorkville 1 its not a class x felony to do a false police report its a felony but not a class x all i can say is i love how people think they know more than what the laws say an i should know i have had many run ins with good old kendall county its punishment enough to be locked up in that jail period!There is a lack of respect in most jails an people who is good are treated pretty crappy so either way lien or not she needs to get help an a cell not gonna give that oh they wont send her to no hospital like you all think she will sit an not get anything by going to jail!!

Like I said, it is out of our hands now. Eric Weis and all of his cronies will go after a felony conviction to make themselves look good. She probably does need help and there is probably more to the story, but all that is irrelevant as long as Eric and the rest of Kendall County keep getting PAID!

They key word being "crimes". They prosecute anytime they have enough to arrest someone whether they believe a crime was committed or not. Meanwhile the poor person wastes $10K or more defending themself many times for something extremely petty. The public never finds out, most cases get settled.

That is twisted I've seen the blue crown vic she described in plano all the time . It has red lights in the grill and a police spot light on the drivers side ...
