Gasoline Prices Rise 13 Percent Over Last 32 Days

CNN Money reports the average price for a gallon of gasoline in America is $3.73. Oswego gasoline prices are even higher.

Most motorists have noticed that the price of gasoline has done nothing but rise over the past month.

CNN Money reports the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in America has increased more than 13 percent over the past 32 days to $3.73.

On Tuesday morning, gas prices in Oswego ranged from $3.89 at the Phillips 66 station at Light Road and Route 31, to $3.99 at the Shell at Route 25 and Chicago Road, according to GasBuddy.com.

CNN Money is crediting the price increase to a combination of factors including rising crude oil prices, production cuts and refinery closings.

Why does Oswego have higher gas prices that anyone else. On sSunday the gas at the BP and th eMobil on Orchard and RT34 was $3.81 a gallon and in Oswego it wes from &3.93 to &3.99. We are about .20 cents above the national average. Rick Gardner

We are typically above the national average for two main reasons. Taxes and the Midwest gasoline blend that is mandated for our region.
And FYI, Oswego isn't really that high compared to many communities along Rt 34. I pass through several towns every day and the Meijer and WalMart gas prices are always right around the lowest I see.

Why has Minooka been so much higher than Morris or other communities in the same county. I work in cook county and we were always 20 cents cheaper because of county taxes and lately we were the same. It just seems so random.

Skully its the governments fault for no regulations on oil prices cause it is an easy way for them to gain more tax dollars and a way for big oil to pay off politicians with more money..

So Jax, would you be in favor of the Gov regulating oil and gas prices? How about the healthcare stuff, okay with Gov. regulating that? Gun laws? What else?
