Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Hello Oswego!

Meet the new editor of Oswego Patch.

Good morning, Oswego! My name is Andre, and I’ll be your editor today. And, um, every day, actually.

That’s right, I’m officially taking over for Steven Jack today, as he moves on to the role of associate regional editor for this section of Patch. Steve did an amazing job with this site, and I know I have some big shoes to fill. (Seriously, they’re like size 12. Big feet, our Steve.)

So, a little bit about me. If you’re a regular reader of Oswego Patch, you’ve seen my byline more than a few times. I spent the last 16 months running Montgomery Patch, just up the road, and my stories have also appeared on this site since day one. Before starting with Patch, I worked for the Beacon-News for five years, so I have a bunch of experience covering this area.

That said, while I’m sure I’ll put my own stamp on things here, don’t expect any major changes from what Steve was doing. Oswego Patch is a classic example of not fixing things that ain’t broke, in my opinion, so I’m going to try to bring you the same mix of news and community info you’ve come to expect.

Oswego Patch has become a real gathering place for this community, too, and I hope to continue that. Your suggestions, story ideas, pictures and comments are always welcome here. You can post announcements and events, upload your photos, and sign up to be a blogger, if you’re interested. You can also follow Oswego Patch on Facebook and Twitter.

No, the only thing that’s going to change in that regard is the email address you should send your tips and suggestions to. I’m at andre.salles@patch.com. You can also call me at 630-414-5670.

Patch is really all about you, and over the last year and a half, you’ve all made Oswego Patch a place to be proud of. I’m thrilled and honored to be joining you, and I hope I live up to the standard Steve set. I’m counting on you to let me know. Thanks very much for reading and participating. I’m ready to get to work!

Andre, Welcome to "our" world! You never know what's going to happen in our little corner of the world, but one thing's for sure.....it won't be boring. So, hold on tight because it's going to be a bumpy (but interesting) ride! Best of luck!
