Man Killed by Train in Aurora Wednesday Night
Police said the 43-year-old Aurora man was on the tracks just north of Jericho Road at 9:30 Wednesday night.
An Aurora man was killed by a train late Wednesday on the tracks just north of Jericho Road in Aurora, Kane County Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Pat Gengler said.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., Gengler said. The man, whose name has not been released, was 43 years old, and was on the tracks north of Jericho at Terry Avenue, Gengler said. Kane County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death, but foul play is not suspected.
That area of Aurora is in the Montgomery and Countryside Fire Protection District, and the department responded to the scene.
The Kane County Coroner was on the scene around 11:30 Wednesday night. Jericho Road was closed at Terry Avenue, but Gengler said he expected traffic – both on the road and the train tracks – to open up by 12:30 a.m.
More details are expected Thursday.
