This gang problem apparent Oswego may not be actually related to gangs, but rather to "wannabees!"
Parents should know where their kids are, and everyone should take responsibility to report suspicious people in their neighborhoods! We had a similar incident last year and the hoodlums did not correctly "tag" the structure. The gang sign which they had attempted to replicate was missing pieces. No REAL gang member worth their pride would have not known how to tag their turf!

These little wannabees, if caught should be forced by the judges to clean and brighten the very area affected - during their community service time. A stiff monitary fine should also be imposed.

My experience in working with gang bangers makes me think the subjects were targeting a particular person in each neighborhood. Not being the brightest people, they're not sure which house they want to hit, so they hit a few. You want to know who did it, ask the gang banger who lives in one of the houses that was tagged. These guys dont usually hit random houses. Random public places? Yes. Biut if they do that to a house, it's usually an opposition.

Come on you fools... Aurora has been spilling into Oswego for years now, and if you just discovered that factoid then your kids are probably the ones doing drugs and/or going to parties drinking underage and finally you most likely have a pregnant 16yr in your house,,,

My sisters went to OHS too. Many of these kids and my sisters included were little wannabe thugs. It has nothing to do with racism. Your actions speak louder than words. Period! In Oswego, there is many biracial families. Its more common and accepted more than you think. I have many races in my family too. We all bleed the same!

Not sure how this story described racism, but you sure were quick to make accusations and generalizations which only perpetuates the problem of f racism. No doubt racism exists, and obviously in your home, but it's not always the reason people are characterized by others. I don't know your son, but I'm guessing that the person who allegedly called him a thug and gang banger had more to go on than just his physical discription. Name calling is rarely a good thing, especially by school staff, but you did the same thing by drawing an imaginary picture of the taggers. You have no idea who did this, but you already have their socio/economic profile all drawn up. You don't come out and call them any particular race, but I think you were pretty clear who you think they are. Now who's racist? If you're not helping the problem, you're making it worse. This story was about possible gang type tagging. How did it turn into this?

To Father of 2 teenagers - it is too bad you are so opinionated about this - maybe you need a few facts to change your mind. Per your statement "you want to know who did it, ask the gang banger who lives in one of the houses that was tagged." The four homes on Lake Court are owned by 70 and 80 year olds. What makes you think we have any teenagers living here? We could use some volunteers to clean the graffiti off as it's much too cold for old folks to be out. Its a shame these kind of things happen. Change of the times, RIGHT?
