Here's a look at some of the craziest crimes from around the area.
Today we're introducing a new feature on Patch called OMG PD. It's a collection of some of the most interesting and bizarre crimes from around the area in recent days.
Armed to the teeth
Daryl Florenco Dourado, 25, of the 1500 block of Acorn Court in Lombard, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. June 15 near 95th Street and Reflection Drive, Naperville police said. He was charged with unlawful use of weapons, operating a vehicle without insurance, speeding 30 MPH or more over the limit and disobeying a traffic control device. His bond was $200. Dourado was stopped for running a red light and traveling 103 MPH in a 45-MPH zone. Under the driver's seat were two cans of pepper spray, metal knuckles and an expandable baton.
Unwanted guest
A woman renting a room at the Motel 6 in Joliet unlocked the door to find a man sleeping in the bed. And the man was apparently doing more than just sleeping during his unauthorized (free) stay at the 1850 McDonough St. motel, as cleaning women later found an unspecified number of condoms on the floor of the violated room, Joliet police said. Motel 6 staff alerted police to the freeloader Tuesday. The man apparently got into the room by pushing an air conditioner through a window. The air conditioner was damaged in the break-in, police said.
The garden hoses had it coming
Someone entered the backyards of four houses and damaged garden hoses and a trampoline with unknown sharp items sometime overnight June 5 in the 3000 block of Patterson, Montgomery police said. Anyone with information should contact Aurora Area Crime Stoppers (630) 892-1000 or Montgomery Police Crime Tip Line at (630) 897-8707, Ext 3300.
Times they are a changin'
The vending machine belonging to Freeman’s Sports in Yorkville was damaged and about $150 taken from the 100 block of West Fox Street between June 2 and June 4, Yorkville police said. About $3,000 in damage was done to the machine.

You really put the story of a 16 year old boy wrapping his car around a tree on here jokingly?

If you want to see stupidity, just go to traffic court in Aurora. My wife was a witness and what she witnessed was both frightening and laughable.2 young drivers lost their driving privileges until they're 18, 2 others received 2 years supervision,1 lost her license "until the cows come home, young lady".Tickets involved speeding in school zones or construction zones, all involved cell phones either speaking or texting, one didn't bring her parents insurance card to show proof of insurance. Not one of these minors had even told their parents that they had a court date...which explained the new set of tickets some received for not heeding the judge's warning that they were NOT allowed to drive their vehicles home from court. The funniest one was the 16 year old gal that got a ticket for operating an electronic device while driving. When the judge asked her what type of device she replied "A cell phone, duh!" After rolling his eyes, the judge asked" And what were you doing with the cell phone?" giving her an out...she relied " I dunno..Probably texting a friend."When given one last chance to avoid the texting while driving fine she replied "I must have been texting, none of my friends ever talk on the phone, that's gay. We all textspeak..."
Fines given were a minimum of $350 plus costs,"textspeak" got hit with nearly a grand and her license revoked until 18, 2 others lost licenses and were fined in excess of $500.Cars were taken from the ones that tried to drive home from court.

Sad to hear about Freeman's Sports. The same family has been running the place since I was a young girl in Yorkville. The headline certainly has double meaning.
