Oswego Website Design Company Helps Local Nonprofit in Need
Celebrate Differences needed a new website. That's where Idea Web Design and Internet Marketing stepped in.
Idea Web Design and Internet Marketing recently donated their services to Celebrate Differences, redesigning their website to help in spreading their message.
Celebrate Differences is a nonprofit Oswego-based organization that provides education, support and resources to assist families of children with disabilities while striving to foster a community of acceptance.
Idea Web Design, also located in Oswego, launched a new website for CD which makes its message clearer and with a user-friendly format so that families can find information easier, said Idea President Darren Fox.
Updates to the site include: Capability to accept online donations, blog with information on events, resources and archived newsletters and pictures and stories of the children who are highlighted in the fundraising calendar.
“Darren really stepped up to the plate,” said Rebecca Christiansen, founder and executive director of CD. “Connecting with Darren was a miracle; we are so lucky. Just as our board was researching how to increase our online presence, Darren moved into the office space next door.”
Fox was born and raised in Oswego and actively supports the community.
“I enjoy getting involved with the community whenever possible. I try to do three to four sites per year for non-for-profit organizations,” said Fox. “It’s important to utilize our marketing strengths and talents to help the community. This project gave us the perfect chance to do that.”
Celebrate Differences create an annual awareness calendar. 2012 calendars will be available beginning the second week of October for $10 and can be purchased online.
In October, CD introduces the Next Chapter Book Club for young adults. This national organization arranges for young adults with intellectual disabilities to meet in a community setting to discuss books and socialize.
A speaker from the Family Resource Center on Disabilities, located in Chicago, will provide an overview of their services and how they can assist families. This event occurs at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at Oswego's Holiday Inn Express.
