Police: Mortgage Officer Ripped Off Customers

Plainfield man facing multiple theft charges.

A mortgage officer at Fifth Third Bank at 1 East Merchants Drive in Oswego has been charged with stealing money from customers seeking mortgages, police said Wednesday.

Richard D. Meisinger, 48, of Plainfield, was charged with six counts of theft, a Class 3 felony, police said. He is accused of charging customers added closing fees and taking the money for himself.  

Fifth Third bank returned the money to their customers and a warrant has been issued for Meisinger’s arrest.

His bail has been set at $30,000.
