The Oswegoland Park District will welcome Gin Blossoms as the headlining act for this year’s PrairieFest set for Father’s Day weekend June 14-17.
Formed in the late 1980s in Tempe, Ariz., the band is best known for hits like Hey Jealousy, Allison Road and Found Out About You. They will take the Main Stage at PrairieFest Park from 8:30 to 10 Saturday, June 16. The band most recently released an album in October 2010 titled NO CHOCOLATE CAKE.
Other Main Stage entertainment includes Wedding Banned set for 8 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Back Country Roads at 7 p.m. Friday with 7th Heavan taking the stage at 9:30 p.m. that day. The band Generations will perform before the Gin Blossoms Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
“These free shows would not be possible without our generous corporate sponsorships,” said Margaret Gienger, superintendent of marketing for the park district.
The park district’s sponsorship drive will begin in earnest following the holidays, she said. Those wishing to provide a verbal commitment of sponsorship can do so by calling 630-554-4431.
