Readers' Choice: Who's Got the Best Manicure in Town?

Log on, leave your review and we'll award the top choice!

Last week, it was called Local Favorites. This week, a decision was made to start calling it Readers' Choice, and so it shall be. Welcome to week two of our readers picking the best local businesses in town.

Last week, we asked you to vote on your favorite place to work out in town. By a wide margin, our readers chose B Fitness in Mason Square.  One reader said the facility has the “Best staff in the area,” while another said she drives 45 minutes to work out at B Fitness.

This week, we’re turning our attention to your favorite place to get your nails done. As usual, the instructions to vote are pretty simple. Take a moment to click on each business and post a review in our Places Directory. The “Readers' Choice” winner will be based on the reviews received on each directory listing. Reviews posted between Monday morning and noon Friday will be taken into account during scoring.

If you know a salon that’s not listed below, make sure to let us know in comments and we’ll get them added to our directory.

Bravia is the best! They've never turned me away as a walk in, their manicures and pedicures are top quality, and pricing is good. The people who work there are friendly and the environment is clean and organized. It's a relaxing experience and a scapegoat for a stressful day. They also do a great job with little girls' nails! My daughters love to sit in their pink butterfly chairs and be pampered.

I went to Sarabella to see if the experience was any better then the typical nail salon and I was disappointed. The cost was a great deal higher but I didn't think the service was any better. My technician actually was a bit of a downer...I don't need to hear people's woes while I'm paying to be pampered. I will say the salon has a good atmosphere but again I don't need to hear the gossip of the employees while trying to chillax. I like the place by Panera.

I love the atmosphere and cleanliness of Sarabella. Agree with above though, I like to relax when getting nails done, not listen to gossip.

Bravia, is by far, my choice when it comes to mani/pedis in Oswego. Clean, efficient and a great staff to boot. While the staff tends to speak in their mother tongue quite a bit, it doesn't bother me, as I'm there to tune the world out and get myself pampered. Fantastic with my daugther as well. Just wish I could convince my husband to get pampered there!

Sarabella! I had a wonderful experience at Sarabella. It was a relaxing atmosphere and they were very professional. I would recommend to my friends and definitely return for another service.

Bravia employees are rude & disrespectful. The last time I was in, I was told I needed a new full set. I declined & offered to leave. The tech spoke to her co-workers in thier language & one by one they all stopped by my station, pointing, whispering & laughing. I can only assume they were comments of how they disliked my choice. Then one by one the tech cut all of my previously long nails off & replaced them with tips that didnt even extend past my fingertips. Its not the first time I felt talked about but it is the last time Ill visit that salon.

I have visited many nail salons in town and my favorite is Jenny's Nail Spa (formerly of Oswego and now in Montgomery). However I do visit Bravia and really like the place. Their pedicures are very relaxing and the massage of the feet and legs is heavenly. I have seen negative comments about Sarabella (which I visited once and will not return) but my complaint is that they did not do a good job. The nail technician was rushed and I felt shorted on my experience.

I love Bravia! Jessica ALWAYS greets me by name and takes the time to ask me about my family and children. If I chip or mess up a nail once I get home they always fix it for me the next day. Everyone there has always been kind and friendly whether they spoke in English or Vietnamese. I've been going there for 4 years and while I've hit other salons in the area I always go back to Bravia!

Sarabella has great service, is clean and a very enjoyable place to go for a manicure or pedicure. I have tried other places in town and will not go anywhere else!! It's worth the price and Janelle is the best nail technician I have ever had!!
