Two Men Charged in TCF Bank Robbery
Aurora man and Chicago man in custody from December 2010 holdup.
Two men have been charged for a bank robbery that took place in Oswego in December 2010.
According to Oswego police, federal indictments were issued Feb. 15 for Joseph Prince, 23, of Aurora, and Mason Johnson, 34, of Chicago. They are both in custody for the robbery that occurred Dec. 20, 2010 at the TCF Bank inside the Jewel at 2540 Route 30.
Police said the two men robbed the bank after one of them implied he had a weapon. No weapon was ever seen, and no one was injured during the robbery. The men took an undisclosed amount of cash and ran from the store, heading north, police said. They left the scene in a dark gray four-door car with a sunroof, according to reports.
Oswego police assisted the FBI in the investigation, which is being handled by federal authorities. Evidence recovered at the scene was analyzed by the state police’s crime lab and aided in the investigation, Oswego police said.
