I am truly amazed that Hobby lobby can maintain the number of stores that they do. My sister isRead Moreemp loyed at the store on 75th street and maintains that traffic is moderate at best. They're not busy at all to say the least. They do serve an unique demographic - it just amazes me that they would choose the oswego area to open a store - I can't see the store bringing in enough business to justify an opening, especially with another store of similar nature so close and already established. Michaels and Hobbly Lobby sell very similar merchandise - Each store sells items that differ, but not enough to garner a lot of unique market share. Each store will also bring its own (or keep) loyal customer base. For me personally - a store or establishement that would bring more sales tax income into the oswego area would be a bigger draw. A broader appeal. That is MY opinion. I'm not a big fan of Hobby Lobby - never have been. And it has nothing to do with their political/religious views. I guess if that's really what's coming into Lowes - then I can hold out hope that the old Dominicks location brings something thats more useful.

@ Laure - I wasn't speaking for you, and I apologize if what I wrote came across that way. I'mRead Morehapp y there is going to be something filling that huge vacant space, but it is just a place that my family and I don't really every find the need to go to. My comment was more directed at the fact that this is hardly news at all.

Michaels has nearly 4 billion dollars worth of long term debt. HL has zero. HL is very profitableRead Morean d can run on small margins and their stores are much larger than Michaels, and have a much wider selection of goods. They'll bring in their fair share of property taxes and sales taxes to our area.
