Wheatland Salem is among the first in the nation to OFFER THE PARENTING CHILDREN COURSE AS PART OF NATIONWIDE INITIATIVE.

What one-to-one activity does your child most appreciate doing with you?

What is the ratio of positive to negative comments you make to your children each day?

What are the most important values you want to model to your children?

These are just some of the challenging questions which parents will be considering as they attend the Parenting Course by Alpha this February. Couples, single parents, step parents, grand-parents, and guardians all welcome.

The Parenting Courses involve a meal, a video and a discussion session and consists of five sessions tackling a wide range of parenting issues including boundaries, sibling relationships, one-to-one times and 'letting go'.

They also identify five ways of showing love – words, time, touch, presents and actions – and how to use them to be most effective.

The Parenting Courses were developed at HTB church in London by clergyman Nicky Lee and his wife Sila. Their books on marriage and parenting have sold hundreds of thousands of copies.  

Wheatland Salem Church offers the Parenting Course at our Oswego location beginning Friday, Feb 3 through March 2 (5 weeks.) 6:30-9 pm. Book, Childcare and Dinner included! Registration costs: $30
