AUDITIONS: Holiday World Premiere "Twas Santa the Night Before Christmas"

(St Charles) Vero Voce School of Visual & Performing Arts is pleased to announce auditions for "Twas Santa the Night Before Christmas". The production is an original holiday show for the entire family, written by David M. Rodriguez, Theatrical Artistic Director of Vero Voce. The show opens Saturday November 30th and runs until Sunday December 22. Roles can be doubled in order to accommodate conflicts.

Young Actors 8-18 years of age can audition for the Actor's portion of "Twas Santa" Friday October 18th from 6pm to 8pm. Performers are asked to bring a headshot and resume (if available). Auditionees need not prepare material in advance, however, actors must be ready to perform short form Improv at the audition. Rehearsals begin October 24th. Rehearsal schedule will tentatively follow Thursdays from 6pm-7pm, and Sundays from 12pm to 2pm. This is a tuition-based program. Students will learn about acting technique, stage appearance, backstage environment, and a substantial amount of the program will educate about the writing and editing process of a new script.  Actors will be strongly encouraged to add their own material to the overall production value.

"Twas Santa" is a comedic spin on the classic holiday poem by Clement Clarke Moore. Santa himself will appear on stage, providing the narration of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" while the story comes to life around him and with the help of the cast and the audience. There will be caroling by the Vero Voce Chorale in the lobby prior to each performance.
