Expect Road Closures During Celebrate Differences 5K

Steps Toward A Brighter Future 5K is Sunday in downtown Oswego.

Celebrate Differences, a non-profit that supports individuals with disabilities, is reminding residents that its third annual Steps Toward a Brighter Future 5K race is slated for Sunday, April 27, in downtown Oswego.

Franklin Street is scheduled to be closed from 6 to 11 a.m. for the 5K, Celebrate Differences founded Rebecca Christiansen said.

The course for the 5K also includes several residential roads in downtown Oswego, including: Tyler Street, Madison Street, Wilson Place, Hickory Street, Judson Street, Douglas Street, Main Street, South Adams Street, West Van Buren Street, Monroe Street, Jefferson Street and Garfield Street.

While Franklin Street closes at 6 a.m. for the 9 a.m. race, all other streets will remain open, Christiansen said.

Celebrate Differences volunteers will be at several locations assisting the motoring public and participants and are asking for your patience while this event takes place. Alert and courteous drivers will provide safety for the participants as well as the volunteers of this event.
