Get Out: Downtown Businesses Celebrate Royal Wedding, InspirED Showcase at OEHS

This weekend's calendar is jam-packed.

This week there are lots of fun things going on – and for great causes!

• DOWNTOWN BUSINESS CELEBRATE THE ROYAL WEDDING

Where/When: The Marmalade Tree, Prairie Stitches Quilt Shoppe, Floral Expressions and Gifts, Rekindle, American Male, Village Grind and Go Dog Go, Friday afternoon/evening
Why go: According to Marmalade Tree's Facebook page, the businesses will have "cake at the Quilt Shop and Rekindle, bouquet toss at Floral Expressions at 6:30pm, Go Dog Go is hosting a dog wedding at 6pm followed by tea and crumpets, America Male will be doing Champagne toasting, The Village Grind will have high tea and we will be handing out wedding favors."

Where/When: Oswego East Performing Arts Center, 1525 Harvey Rd.; 7 p.m Friday
Why Go: Oswego students' talent will be featured in the showcase. The work was inspired during recent workshops by artists such as Second City Chicago, COREPROJECT dance, STYX drummer Dennis DeYoung and 2011 Grammy Nominee Liam Davis.
Pricing: $5 per ticket

Where/When: Old Post Park, 116 Old Post Rd.; Sat. 8 a.m. to noon
Why Go: Hosted by Celebrate Differences, walk to support children with special needs. "This will be a friendly, fun, family event filled with resources, a clown, a bouncer, face painting, the author and illustrator of Kathryn the Grape, story time, music, chair massages & raffles for mom and dad."
Pricing: Registration is $20.00 for ages 12 and up and $10 for ages 3-11. 

Where/When: Little White School Museum, 72 Polk St.; Sat & Sun 12:30-3:30 p.m. 
Why Go: Children ages 3-10 can make a bouquet of paper flowers for their mother or someone special
Pricing: FREE!!

Where/When: 520 Secretariat Ln.; Tuesday – Friday 9-4 & Fri night 6-8:30
Why Go: Enjoy browsing and purchasing a new book while supporting the school
Pricing: Free to browse!

Where/When: Knights of Columbus Hall, 197 E. Washington St.; Fri 5-7 p.m.
Why Go: Full steak dinner including homemade desserts. Money raised supports the Special Camps Program for handicapped children and adults & the KC Emergency Fund
Pricing: $10 donation. Take out is also available.

Where/When: 67 Longbeach Rd., Montgomery; Sat 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Why Go: Community wide garage sale. Someone else’s trash is sure to be your treasure – plus proceeds support Long Beach School.
