We hope you're not tired of talking about pizza yet!

The Oswego Junior Woman’s Club (OJWC) has set a date for its second annual Oswegoland’s Best Pizza Contest.

This fundraising event will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. at the Columbus Club of Oswego (197 E. Washington Street).

For an admission fee, the public is invited to sample pizzas from a number of local pizza restaurants.  A panel of local celebrity judges will choose a winner in three categories – sausage, pepperoni and specialty.

Additionally, the public will vote for their favorite overall pizza for the People’s Choice Award.  Last year’s winners included Shef Brothers Pizza (Best Pepperoni), Garios Pizza Villa (Best Sausage), Pizza Cucina (Best Specialty [“Four Tops” pizza]), and Firehouse Pizza & Pub (People’s Choice Award).

On the Patch, Firehouse Pizza & Pub recently won the "best of" competition for pizza, and was followed closely by Chicago Pizza Authority.

OJWC is currently seeking local pizza restaurants to participate in the event.  In addition, local companies are needed to sponsor the event.  For more information, interested businesses may contact OJWC Vice President Denise Ryan – 815-272-5989.
