Oswego Senior Center Offers Trips in 2014

See Mount Rushmore, Mackinac Island.

Looking to get a way for a few days?

The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington St., is hosting a series of trips this year. Here's where they're headed:

  • August 10 to 16: Take a trip to the Badlands, Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills of South Dakota. Tour includes Mount Rushmore, guided tour of Deadwood the former home of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane, admission to the Unique Journey Museum, Black Hills, Crazy Horse Memorial and Corn Palace. Six nights of lodging, 10 meals; six breakfasts and four dinners. Cost is $630 per person, based on double occupancy, add $240 for single occupancy for seven days and six nights. Deadline for payment is June 3.  
  • Sept. 8 to 12: Visit Mackinac Island. So popular last year, the senior center couldn't accommodate everyone who wanted to go, so it is being repeated this year. Cruise on Soo Locks, with free time and sightseeing in Sault Sainte Marie, Point Iroquois Lighthouse and a day on Mackinac Island, where the only means of transportation are carriages, Colonial Michilimackinac. Cost is $499 per person; add $150 for single occupancy for five days and four nights. Includes eight meals: four breakfasts and four dinners. Payment due by July 3.
