Park District Offering New Preschool Program

Just Right For Me available for 4- and 5-year-olds who are not old enough for kindergarten.

It’s tough to balance a full- or part-time job and parenthood.

It’s especially difficult when you have a little one not quite old enough for kindergarten but ready enough to want to know where firefighters sleep, what butterflies do in the winter and what happens when you mix green and yellow in paint instead of crayon on your bedroom wall.

It’s the age of discovery and it’s fascinating!

All parents, working outside the home or not, want to be sure that their little tike experiences a world beyond their own playroom that sparks their curiosity, helps them develop social skills, and prepares them for their first year in school. The Oswego Park District is offering a new program this fall that is designed to do just that.

Just Right For Me is an all-day or half-day enrichment program for 4-and 5-year-olds that meets at  as early as 6:15 a.m. and runs as late as 6:15 p.m. Kids can come one to five days a week, mornings only, afternoons only, or both.

During the day the kids will do craft projects, stories, group time, and go on weekly field trips. South Point has a brand new playground and indoor activity room for active play. A hot breakfast, lunch and a snack are included.

Kids that attend the park district’s As We Grow Preschool program at any one of the district’s three locations can be transported both to and from Just Right For Me offering extended care for preschoolers. Now that’s just right for working parents.
