Plan Alternate Routes During Soccer Fest: Police

Plan alternate routes.

The Village of Oswego Police Department is reminding the public to expect increased traffic congestion and delays in Oswego Friday, May 23, Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 due to the Prairie Soccer Festival activities.

The games will take place on the soccer fields located on the south side of Oswego High School. Motorists should expect delays in particular while traveling on Illinois Route 71 between Plainfield Road/Washington Street and Route 34, police said.

Delays on Plainfield Road and Washington Street in the area between Franklin Street and Woolley Road are also expected.

Motorists may want to consider alternate routes around these areas if they are not coming in for the festival.

Alternate routes to consider using would be to utilize Route 34 to avoid Route 71.

Entry and parking for this event will be controlled. Players/Visitors for this event are asked to enter the event from Wooley Road. Follow the posted signs for traffic routes and parking.
