Settler’s Cottage, Montgomery’s historical museum, has reopened for the summer season. From May to October Settler’s Cottage will be open on the first Saturday of each month and on the third Sunday of each month, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Visitors are invited to learn more about Montgomery’s rich history in this restored 1840s home, located in front of the Village Hall at 200 N. River Street. Exhibits include the Civil War (did you know we had a Civil War camp in Montgomery?), early businesses, the sheep yards, a military Wall of Honor, Montgomery Methodist Church, and many others. The museum is free and is handicapped accessible.
If you have any historic photos or memorabilia that you are willing to share, please contact Debbie Buchanan at 630-896-8080 ext. 1114.
