Video: Off to the Pumpkin Races

Hundreds turned out for the third annual Pumpkin Races put on by the Oswegoland Optimist Club.

The Oswegoland Optimist Club's third annual Pumpkin Races were held last Saturday afternoon.

The event had racers pit their pumpkins against one another to see which decorated pumpkin was the fastest down the hill. Many of the pumpkins featured different animal designs -- like an elephant, cat and chicken -- to movie characters -- like a Minion from Despicable Me and Mike from Monsters Inc. -- to many Halloween-inspired designs.

The pumpkins went off by age group to find the fastest pumpkin of them all. Any pumpkin though caught not adhering to the rules was called a "Cheater Pumpkin" and met a pulpy end from the Oswego Police Department.
