Oswego High Student's Artwork Featured in National Catalog

Oswego junior Thomas Mereness' sculpture received gold in the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and his work will be featured in the National Catalog.

We've all tried our hand at building a house of cards.

But probably not quite like this.

Oswego High School junior Thomas Mereness earned the distinction of a National Medalist in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition by earning gold with his sculpture "House of Cards."

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards celebrated their 90th anniversary this year and received a record high of 230,000 works from students across the nation and recognized over 60,000 at the regional level and about 1,900, including Mereness, were earned National awards.

Mereness' work will be appearing in the 2013 National Catalog through Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
