Here's What's Happening At the Oswego YMCA

Two new members joined our Board.

The Oswego Family YMCA ended 2011 with three spectacular events: Halloween with the Y; Breakfast with Santa; and the Jingle Bell Jog.

Our Halloween party for kids provided tons of games and prizes, bounce houses, fun crafts and food for Y members and community participants alike. Approximately X of people attended making it a huge success! We are already planning for Halloween with the Y 2012!

After Halloween, we showed our community spirit and put on two events during the Village of Oswego’s Christmas Walk. Breakfast with Santa was held in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Oswego and the Oswego Senior Center.  After families and friends enjoyed a pancake and sausage breakfast, the kids were off to play games, win prizes and make holiday crafts. Finally, with many kids dressed in their finest Christmas attire, photos were taken with Santa. 650 people from the community made this event a hit!

The very next day 225 festively-dressed participants and 50 volunteers were back at the Y for the Jingle Bell Jog 5K/1-mile walk. This fun, family event continues to grow and become a tradition at Christmas Walk time.

We would again like to thank our volunteers, sponsors and very dedicated staff that helps make these events possible!

We are very proud to welcome our two newest board members. We look forward to the opinions and expertise that all our board members offer as we enter 2012 and begin planning our many special events.
