Chamber Notes: Chamber Thinking Spring

Golf outing teeing it up at Fox Bend this year.

Information on the Oswego Chamber’s Annual Golf Outing is being sent to Chamber members this week.  On the slight chance that there are Beacon readers who are golfers but not Oswego Chamber members, here’s the low down.

We’ll be teeing it up at for a 12 noon shotgun start on Thursday, May 31.  There’s a maximum field of 144 golfers, numerous games on the course and prizes galore.  Both lunch and dinner, as well as a tee gift, and free range balls are included in the bargain basement priced registration fee of $125 per golfer.  By the way, we’ve kept the price the same for the past several years.  Sponsorships are also available.  For complete details or to reserve your spot go to www.golfinvite.com/oswegochamber.

Just in case you’ve overlooked or forgotten the information previously shared in this space, the Chamber’s Business and Consumer Expo takes place just a month from now on Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Fieldhouse.  Last week we conducted an exhibitor training session for 35 first time exhibitors.  Thanks goes out to our instructor Jim Connon of and to for hosting the event.

Here are a couple of considerations if you’ve been putting off registering your business or community organization as an exhibitor.  First, many of available booth spaces have now been reserved.

Another spring activity is the Chamber’s Annual Business Meeting set for Thursday, May 3 at Whitetail Ridge Golf Course where new directors will be elected.  Our keynote speaker is Barry Kolanowski, owner of the Compass Group.  Barry will address how today's business environment is changing at light speed and to survive, companies and organizations will need to adapt or they will be replaced by companies who are able to make the necessary changes to win new generations of consumers.  Watch this column for complete details.

Chamber notes is an occasional column written and provided by Steve Hatcher, the president and CEO of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce.
