Chamber Notes: Expo Registration Now Open

Sign up early to get the choice booth.

I was mistaken a few weeks ago when I predicted that booth sales would begin in December for the Oswego Chamber’s April 14, 2012 Business and Consumer Expo.  In reality, our early bird registration with discount pricing began Jan. 4. As always, booth space is limited and those registering earliest will have access to the choicest locations.

Our 2011 Expo drew approximately 2000 visitors to view and meet with over 100 exhibitors.  In addition, a juried art show by junior high and high school students from Oswego and Yorkville was added as a fun family activity.  The art show will be back this year by popular demand.

Businesses and community organizations wishing to exhibit are encouraged to visit the Expo website at www.oswegobusiness.org.  The site will be updated regularly to indicate which booths are still available.  If you visit the website you’ll probably notice that Oswego Chamber members qualify for a substantial registration discount.  Just give me a call and I’ll explain how we can put Chamber membership in your future.

Another important Expo related date is March 7.  All registered exhibitors will be invited to this pre-show luncheon where marketing experts will share their expertise on how to have a successful Expo experience.  And get this—lunch is on us.  Hope to see you there!

On another front, I was delighted when the Winter Solstice came and went on Dec. 21 starting the process of gaining a few precious seconds of daylight each day and giving way to thoughts of a cure for Seasonal Affective Disorder and golf in the sun.  Go ahead and circle Thursday, May 31 on your calendar as the day to participate in the Oswego Chamber Golf Outing.  The location is yet to be determined by the golf committee being chaired by Matt Kewenig of Aspen Financial.

Serving with Matt are Steve Beck of A Little Night Music, Jerry Callison of Herring Consulting, Dawn Carver of Bridgeview Bank, Cory Holstead of TSYS Merchant Solutions, Bob Kovanic of Padget Business Systems, Tim Leverich of Hometowne Insurance Services, Michele Pales of Insphere Insurance Solutions, Kyle Phillips of Sir Speedy Printing, and Todd Trader of Golf Invite.

And while the Oswego Chamber Golf outing is always the best outing around, we realize there are only so many dollars available for fundraiser golf.  So, as a service, we’ll be posting the dates of area outings as they become available.  Check our facebook page, and website, www.oswegochamber.org, from time to time to stay up to date.

Happy New Year!  May yours’ be healthy, happy and prosperous.
