Chamber Notes: FraidyCat is Almost Here

Over 500 participants have already signed up.

We’re coming down to the wire for registrations for the Oswego Chamber’s second annual Edward Fraidycat 5K coupled with our first Meow Mile.  These rain or shine events will be held next Sunday, October 28th starting at 9:00 am in front of the Oswego Center (old Traughber Jr. High School), 61 Franklin Street, Oswego.  Chip-timed, the 5K is certified by the Chicago Area Runners’ Association, CARA.

Approximately 500 participants have already registered and will receive a long sleeve tech commemorative shirt, runners gear bag containing many gifts from our sponsors and a shoe wallet along with an opportunity to take home a ribbon or trophy in numerous age groups.  Please note that baby joggers and strollers are allowed in the Meow Mile only.  Bikes, skates of any kind, scooters, skateboards and dogs are strictly prohibited.  Last minute registrants are encouraged to contact the Oswego Chamber prior to the deadline at midnight, October 24th.  Race day registration will be available but there is no guarantee of shirt size at that time.

Our lead sponsor, Edward Hospital and Health Services would also encourage non-runners to come out to cheer on the participants and view the many displays of running and fitness equipment or just to enjoy the live play by play broadcast courtesy of sponsor 95.9 The River.  Additional sponsors include Castle Bank, Keystroke Graphics, Business Knowledge Systems, Oswego Cyclery and More, Hometowne Insurance Services, Oswegoland Optimist Club, Tap House Grill, Carson Chiropractic, Massage Envy, Rasmussen College, Advocare, Waubonsee Community College, Autumn Leaves of Oswego, Costco Wholesale, Panera Bread, Azza Salon, Aliboo Farms, Nissan/GMR Marketing, Rondi’s SELF Fitness, Energetic Health Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, One on One Fitness, Kumon Math & Reading Center, Shaklee/Sue Mersch, and The Pooper Scoopers.
