If you don’t have plans next Friday evening, Oswego businessman Larry Motykowski has a suggestion.
Owner of , Motykowski is spearheading a pig roast fundraiser to benefit both the and the .
Dubbed the 2012 Kendall Pig Out, the event starts at 5 pm Aug. 3, behind The Man Store office on Routes 34 and 71.
Initially, Motykowski was going to host the pig roast for his customers. Then he decided to broaden the event to include the community, and make it a fundraiser.
“We took it from a private affair to ‘Let’s involve the county.’ And ‘Let’s make it even bigger next year.’ It’s an excuse to have a party and raise some dough while we’re doing it,” he said.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The ticket itself is actually a high visibility orange T-shirt with the event logo on it. The evening will include roasted pig prepared by OurAutoTeam.com, a 50/50 raffle, entertainment from The After Five Band of Oswego, and other activities.
Community members will also have an opportunity to dunk their local politicians in the dunk tank. Notables in the dunk tank will be State Rep. Kay Hatcher, Kendall County Board member Dan Koukol, Oswego Police Chief Dwight Baird, and School Board President Bill Walsh.
All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Kendall County Food Pantry and the Yarn Foundation.
“What the heck can you do for $20 on a Friday night? Here you can get a T-shirt, you get to dunk a local politician, and you can have the best pig of your life,” Motykowski said.
He thanks the many local businesses who are sponsoring the event, including , , , Dunwell Home Inspection, , , , , Dan Koukol for County Board, OurTeamAuto.com, The After Five Band, and .
