Eight Restaurants to Compete to be Crowned Oswegoland's Best Pizza

The Oswego Junior Women's Club is hosting a Best Pizza Contest and will need taste-testers to be the judge of just whose pie reigns supreme for the People's Choice category.

The following was provided by the Oswego Junior Woman's Club:

From newly-opened pizza pubs to national and regional franchises to long-established local icons; from Chicago-style to New York-style and everything in between, the field of competitors for the first annual Oswegoland’s Best Pizza Competition is incredibly diverse.

Oswegoland’s Best Pizza Competition will be held on Saturday, May 4 from 11:30-1:30 at the Columbus Club of Oswego (197 E. Washington St.). 

For a $5 per person admission fee, the public is invited to sample pizzas from each of the participating restaurants.  A panel of local celebrity judges will choose a winner in three categories – sausage, pepperoni and specialty.  The celebrity judges include: Dwight Baird, Oswego Police Chief; Kevin Schnable, Varsity Boys Basketball Coach  at OHS; Danielle Tufano, Radio Personality at 95.9 The River; representatives from presenting sponsors The Cantina and Conrad’s Harley Davidson.

Additionally, the public will vote for their favorite pizza maker for the People’s Choice Award.

Organized and hosted by the Oswego Junior Woman’s Club, proceeds from the event will benefit the organization and its charitable endeavors.  Presenting sponsors for the event are Conrad’s Harley Davidson and Cantina Inc.

The Oswego Junior Woman’s Club was formed in 2012 as a local charter under GFWC. 

OJWC is a not-for-profit organization that supports the Oswego and surrounding communities through volunteer services and financial generosity with a focus on women and children.
