Oswego's Best Pizza Winner Chosen in OJWC Pizza Competition

Did your favorite pizza place win an award?

The following release was provided by the Oswego Junior Women's Club:

Which pizza restaurant is the Prince of Pepperoni or the Sultan of Sausage?  Who makes a specialty pizza fit for a king?  And which pizza restaurant did the people choose?

On Saturday, May 4, the Oswego Junior Woman’s Club held their first annual Oswegoland’s Best Pizza Competition.  The winners of that competition were as follows:

  • Shef Brothers Pizza – Best Pepperoni
  • Garios Pizza Villa – Best Sausage
  • Pizza Cucina – Best Specialty (“Four Tops” pizza)
  • Firehouse Pizza & Pub – People’s Choice Award

In addition to the winners, other participating restaurants included the following:

  • Domino’s Pizza
  • Genoa Pizza
  • Papa John’s
  • Rosati’s Pizza
  • Windy City Pizza

The winners of the categories of Best Pepperoni, Best Sausage and Best Specialty were determined by a panel of “celebrity judges”, including Dwight Baird (Chief of Police, Oswego Police Department), Danielle Tufano (Radio Personality, 95.9 The River) , Kevin Schnable (Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, Oswego High School), and Patrick Conrad (representative of presenting sponsor Conrad’s Harley Davidson).

The winner of the People’s Choice Award was determined by votes submitted by the general public in attendance.

Organized and hosted by the Oswego Junior Woman’s Club, proceeds from the event will benefit the organization and its charitable endeavors. 

The Oswego Junior Woman’s Club was formed in 2012 as a local charter under GFWC. 

OJWC is a not-for-profit organization that supports the Oswego and surrounding communities through volunteer services and financial generosity with a focus on women and children.
