TCBY Frozen Yogurt Opens in Oswego

The shop opens at 11 a.m. daily.

'Tis the season for new businesses in Oswego!

TCBY Frozen Yogurt quietly opened on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 2850 Route 34.

The shop, owned by Plainfield residents Vyomesh Desai and his wife Amy, is the second frozen yogurt shop to open in Oswego this year.

Vyomesh Desai said they were very excited about their store and its location.

"We had originally hoped to open a store in Plainfield, but they already had two frozen yogurt shops," he explained. They had hoped to open earlier this year, but ran into some roadblocks with the store renovations.

TCBY took over the Cash for Gold location, which moved into an empty storefront next door, which Desai said he believes used to be a financial adviser.

The small but colorfully decorated shop features a wide variety of frozen yogurts in regular and seasonal flavors (I personally highly recommend the seasonal chocolate peppermint bark) and a full bar of toppings and sauces to finish off your creation.

Many of the frozen yogurts are fat free, gluten free or a combination of both, which Desai said he hopes will get people in the door. "Yogurt is much more healthy than ice cream, and we have a lot of flavors to choose from."

Frozen yogurt is $.49 an ounce and is offered in cups or waffle cones (for an additional $.99).

The store is open Sunday - Thursdsay 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday - Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
