What New Businesses Are Going Up Around Oswego?

A few new shops have opened in Oswego and a few more are in the works.

Pier 1 Imports has been built up quite a bit since our peek last month.

Can you guess what each of the buildings pictured in the photos above are? Many have changed quite a bit since we last took a look.

Scroll through the gallery above and read below to see what new businesses have come (or are coming) to Oswego.

TCBY Frozen Yogurt Opens in Oswego
Craving froyo? TCBY Yogurt opened in Oswego just last week. Have you had a chance to check it out?

Pier 1 Imports
Wow, pretty amazing what happens in a month! The store is scheduled for a March 2014 opening.

Panera Bread
Oswego's Panera Bread will be moving to a new location sometime next year in the Gerry Centennial Plaza. The outside of the building appears to have been finished (and street lamps were being installed at the taking of this photo).

The location is also anticipated to have a laundromat.

Potbelly
Potbelly fans were pretty excited for the Oswego location to open last week. (I tried it for the first time and greatly enjoyed my roast beef!). Have you been to Oswego's newest sandwich shop?

Noodles & Company
Next door to Potbelly is the long-awaited Noodles & Company. The location is set to open on Monday, Dec. 16.

Physicians Urgent Care
A new medical office opened just a few doors down from Potbelly and offers a range of services, including physicals, lab tests, x-rays and more.

Alexander Lumber Co.
This is one business that is going down rather than up. Demolition of the property is scheduled to start Monday.

Sam's Club
And while not technically in Oswego, that big building going up on the corner of 30 and 34 is a Sam's Club. It's expecting an opening next spring.

What about Hardee's? That is going in the old Mexican restaurant by Popeyes.

Can we have Natalie reach out to Hardee's and get an official PR or statement. If that's correct, then it will be the 4th restaurant to take over that space. 1. Steak and Shake 2. BBQ Joint 3. Mexican Restaurant 4. Hardee's to revamp building.

I'm afraid I can't picture a Popeye's in Oswego. And searching for one on their site the nearest is in Aurora...? Anyone have an address?
BK December 09, 2013 at 09:17 AM
Hardee's will be right in front of Jewel on Rt. 30 near Oberweis. There is a coming soon sign in front of the building.
Forrest Miller December 09, 2013 at 09:25 AM
That is in Montgomery, right BK?
LRG December 09, 2013 at 09:42 AM
Over rt30 is Oswego so no not Montgomery.
BK December 09, 2013 at 10:30 AM
It is in Oswego.

The Popeyes is long closed. I believe we're talking about the location that Benedicts used to be in. Still miss that place!
BK December 09, 2013 at 10:40 AM
Correct - it will be where Benedict's and Taco Veloz used to be.
Paul L. December 09, 2013 at 12:13 PM
I totally forgot about Benedicts. So lets' make Hardee's #5 in that building. Now...when a property has turnover like that it makes you wonder just what is up. McDonalds and Taco Bell do well probably because they're on the intersection itself, so why is it all these others failed. Having gone to all the above, both service and food was good.

Another bad fast food joint...I grew up with Hardee's, we really don't need it!
Derrek Duffy December 09, 2013 at 06:39 PM
This will mark the second time Hardee's will be in Kendall County. The old Hardee's is now he golden china buffet on Douglas. I believe at the time they shut down due to franchise issues. Round two pairs Hardee's up with the Carl's Jr corp. I'm hoping the location pays off.
