Openings in free youth employment program

The Kendall Youth Employment Program (KYEP) has openings for youth aged 16-21 in their free program that prepares youth for jobs and helps them obtain jobs.

Mark Leigh, KYEP Coordinator, said,“Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. We help youth accentuate their strengths and improve the areas where they are challenged.”

To be eligible for the program youth must meet income guidelines and other requirements. High school dropouts are welcome to apply and can receive help preparing for the GED.

Once enrolled, the program helps youth make a notable resume, learn interview skills, and learn what employers are looking for in an employee. Other services are tailored to the needs and wishes of the youth.

KYEP is a program of the Grundy-Kendall Regional Office of Education and is located in the Kendall County Historic Courthouse, 109 W. Ridge St., Yorkville. The program is funded by the River Valley Workforce Investment Board. To learn more, call 630-553-4166 or email an inquiry to yep@roe24.org.
