Chamber Notes: Holiday Fun this Weekend in Oswego

From tree lighting to the jingle bell jog, this weekend in Oswego is full of activities.

If family fun for the holidays is on your Christmas wish list, you won’t want to miss this coming weekend in Oswego.

The fun starts at 5:00 pm on Friday with the community tree lighting ceremony on the downtown corner of Main & Jackson streets.  The ceremony serves as the official kick off of Christmas Walk 2012.  Between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00 pm you can be entertained by various musical groups, take a Belgium draft horse hayride, enjoy a spin on the Holiday Train, grab a bite to eat at one or more of the numerous food stands and restaurants, do a new craft project, see a display of nativity sets from around the world, take your own picture with Santa and watch a silent decorated fire truck parade.

In addition, you’ll want to visit the Oswego Chamber of Commerce Silent Auction at the Masonic Lodge to benefit the Oswego Optimist Club Needy Families at Christmas Project.  Thank you to State Representative Kay Hatcher, Drive Home Safe Driving School, the Oswegoland Woman’s Civic Club, Atrium Wellness, Second Born Consignment Shop, Tony Sidio Inc, Oswego Chiropractic, du jour fine catering, Keith’s Car Care, Great Western Flooring & The Pooper Scoopers who have donated items to this event.

Your holiday fun continues on Sunday with the 4th Annual Jingle Bell Jog, 5K Fun Run and Family Fun 1 Mile Walk at 9 am at the YMCA.  Call the YMCA at 630-551-0797 for more information on registration.
