Increased Traffic Due to PrairieFest

PrairieFest begins on June 13 and goes through June 16.

The following is from a press release issued by the Oswego Police Department:

The Village of Oswego Police Department is reminding the public to expect increased traffic congestion and delays in Oswego beginning Thursday June 13th through Sunday June 16th due do Prairie Fest activities.  

Motorists should expect delays in particular while traveling on Illinois Route 71 between Washington Street and US Route 34, on Plainfield Road between Illinois Route 71 and Woolley Road and on Madison, Washington, and Main Streets in the Downtown Oswego area.

There will be delays in the downtown area in particular on Sunday June 16th between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. due to the Prairie Fest Parade.  Motorists may want to consider alternate routes around these areas if they are not coming in for the festival.

Parking for Prairie Fest activities is available at the following locations:  Oswego High School (north and south lots), Oswego Transportation Center parking lot, Oswego Public Works grass lot, Park District soccer fields, East View parking lot and the YMCA parking lot.  There will be NO ACCESS to the gravel parking lot at the soccer fields.
