Oswego Lights Village Christmas Tree

During the annual Christmas walk on Dec. 7, the festivities kicked off with the lighting of the village Christmas tree.

Village president Brian LeClercq had an assist from the Borden family, whose house burned down earlier this year.  

“They don’t have a tree or a place to celebrate. We want to help them light this beautiful tree and make sure they understand that Oswego is the greatest place to live and we’re a great community,” said LeClercq.

LeClercq asked everyone in attendance to remember all those who are a little less fortunate than they might be this holiday season. “If you all could do me a favor this year,” said LeClercq, “if you could call your neighbors or friend and just give them a hug or be there for them they’d probably really appreciate that.”

The tree, decorated by the village board, was lit up with red and white candy canes and plenty of silvery garland and lights.
