Oswego Weather: Snow Plows and Salt Trucks on the Road

The National Weather Service has cancelled the winter weather advisory for the Oswego area. Light snow may occur overnight with very little accumulation.

The National Weather Service has stated that the winter weather advisory will remain in effect until 9 p.m. this evening.

Route 34 W/B and Route 71 are experiencing a build up in snow on the traffic lights, making it hard to see the color changes. Please look for additional traffic control such as officers directing traffic, portable stop signs or flasing red lights. Use extreme caution when passing through intersections. #17

2:39 p.m.

Salt trucks and snow plows are out in full force in Oswego, according to Oswego Public Works Spokesperson Kathy Spencer. 

She said that as of now the plows and salt trucks are keeping up with the snow, which the NWS has predicted about 6 inches for Oswego.

The contractor for the village's cul-de-sacs has also been notified, although Spencer said they did not know for sure when the contractor would be arriving.

2:08 p.m.

All Oswego 308 after-school activities and sports have been cancelled for today.

The regional basketball game has also been cancelled and will be re-scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday at the same time.
