Video: Michael Heaton at the Hop Juice Festival

The Montgomery songwriter kicked off the second day of the festival Saturday at Two Brothers Roundhouse.

Last weekend, thousands upon thousands of people flocked to Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora for the fourth annual Hop Juice Festival.

The fest has traditionally been held at Two Brothers’ Warrenville location, and this is the first year the brothers have moved it to Aurora. The large parking lot, next to the Metra station on Broadway, served as a festival grounds, and the crowd thrilled to performances by the Jayhawks, Freddy Jones Band, Hoss, The Right Now, and the Hurricane Reggae Band.

Kicking off the festivities on Saturday was Montgomery’s own Michael Heaton, with his band. Though the crowd would get larger as the day went on, Heaton brought smiles to the faces of those who showed up early, playing a nearly two-hour set of original tunes.
