Kendall County Sheriff Randall Will Not Seek Re-Election

Sheriff Richard Randall will have served 28 years as sheriff when his term ends next year.

Seven-term Kendall County Sheriff Richard Randall announced today that the current term as Sheriff will be his last and he will not seek re-election.

Randall, who is the longest serving Sheriff in Kendall County history, had previously left open the possibility of seeking an eighth term.

"It was a difficult decision to make, and I left the door open for a long time. I guess what made it difficult is that I still enjoy the job, the employees of the Sheriff's office and the residents of Kendall County just as much as I did my first day in office."

Randall, who was previously Chief of Police for Yorkville before being elected in 1986, will have served 28 years as Sheriff when his current term ends on Nov. 30, 2014.

Upon his retirement, Randall will have over 46 years of law enforcement service.
