Letter: Debbie Gillette Seeking Re-Election as Kendall County Clerk and Recorder

Gillette was first elected in 2008 and was re-elected for a second term in 2010.

Debbie Gillette announced that she is seeking re-election as the Kendall County Clerk and Recorder in the March 18, 2014 Primary.  

Gillette was first elected to the Office of Kendall County Clerk and Recorder in 2008 and re-elected to a second term in 2010.  Gillette has made the Kendall County Clerk and Recorder’s Office more efficient and responsive to the taxpayers by using technology to improve processes and increase transparency all while working with reduced staff and under budget each year.

In her role as the Kendall County Clerk , Gillette has provided the public with access to many new documents online including, but not limited to, applications for vital records,  County ordinances and the County Yearbook.  In addition, while serving as Kendall County’s election authority for more than 114,000 citizens, Gillette and her staff successfully managed seven elections while staying abreast of the constant technical and legislative changes impacting elections.  Gillette also published past election results, polling place directions and sample ballots online for the convenience of the voters.

The Kendall County Recorder’s Office records approximately 25,000 documents annually.  During her tenure as the Kendall County Recorder, Gillette reviews property records daily, improved public access to property records and advocated against property fraud on behalf of Kendall County residents by sending out postcards when the names on a deed have been changed. 

Debbie Gillette earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.  In 2011, Gillette was elected Vice-President of the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorders and continues to serve in this role today.  Gillette is a resident of Yorkville with her husband Garrick and her two children, Nick a student at Waubonsee Community College and Jack, a  student at Yorkville High School.

Gillette looks forward to continuing her service to the people of Kendall County.  It is Gillette’s mission to ensure the Kendall County Clerk and Recorder’s Office remains fiscally responsible while continuing to provide efficient and accessible services to the people of Kendall County. 

There will be a fundraiser for Gillette on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Fox Valley Winery from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
