Tia Carr Blood Drive at OHS

The Carr family asks that you please consider giving the gift of health and life this holiday season by donating blood.  This gift costs you only time, but ironically adds precious time to the lives of others.

Tia Carr is a beautiful 17 year old Oswego teen who suffers from various diseases, including Common Variable Immune Deficiency.  Can you imagine being told that your child or someone you love can’t have their infusion because there have not been enough donations to provide this vital medical care?

It doesn’t matter what blood type you are.  Tia’s infusions are made from gamma globulin which gives her an immune system.  It takes 3,500 blood givers to create the single dose of blood she receives every 7 weeks! Thanks to the generosity of blood donors, Tia has been able to play sports, hang with friends, and have a healthy, relatively “normal” year in 2012.

We know that everyone has a busy schedule, but please consider taking time on December 21st to donate blood.

Walk-ins are accepted, but making appointments are highly encouraged as it will help the Red Cross to prepare enough staff and ultimately save you time.
