Good Shepherd United Methodist All ages Sunday School and Rally Day!!

Rev. William (Bill) Moore will speak at The Church of the Good Shepherd, United Methodist on Sept 8, 2013. This presentation, "The Spiritual Journey of Abraham Lincoln" will be given in two parts. During the Education Hour, 9:30 to 10:30 AM, he will use a lecture/dialogue format to focus on Abraham Lincoln's background. During the sermon time at the 10:30 AM service, his focus will be on how Lincoln applied his beliefs.
Rev. Moore graduated from Boston University School of Theology in 1961, studying under some of the same professors as Dr. Martin Luther King.  Rev. Moore recently presented a series at the Lifelong Learning Institute at Northern Illinois University on the Spirituality of Lincoln.  He and his wife Jane Ann Moore co-pastored the First Congregational United Church of Christ in DeKalb, IL.  They are collaborating on an upcoming book, Collaborators for Emancipation: Abraham Lincoln and Owen Lovejoy.  They also co-authored a book about Lincoln's "most generous friend" Owen Lovejoy; entitled His Brother's Blood: Speeches and Writings of Owen Lovejoy 1838-1864, which was published in 2006.
