LOCAL AREA IHOP RESTAURANTS ANNOUNCE INAUGURAL PANCAKE BOWL

Much to the delight of
football fans nationwide, it’s Bowl season again, and this year local IHOP®
restaurants are getting in the game and adding a little pancake pandemonium to
the football frenzy. Beginning today and continuing through January 26,
participating IHOP restaurants in the Chicago area are challenging guests to
get off the sidelines and get in the game, with a chance to participate in a
Bowl of their own: The Pancake Bowl.

With the return of “All
You Can Eat Pancakes” at IHOP restaurants nationwide, participating IHOP
restaurants are inviting pancake lovers to join in a good old-fashioned pancake
eating contest, and giving them a chance to win a spot in their inaugural
Pancake Bowl on February 1.

Guests can enter the
competition at their local participating IHOP restaurants by ordering “All You
Can Eat Pancakes” and enjoying as many buttermilk pancakes as they can to earn
a spot on the leader board. The leader board will be updated daily and at the
end of the competition, the top-scoring pancake eater at each restaurant will
receive bragging rights--and free pancakes for one year! (defined as one free
full stack (4) of any same-flavored pancakes from the IHOP menu per week for
one year).

On February 1, the top
10 pancake eaters in the Chicago area will compete in the Pancake Bowl and the
winner will receive a $500 IHOP gift card.

“All You Can Eat
Pancakes” are available nationwide from January 2 through February 9, 2014. The
pancakes can be ordered as part of IHOP restaurant’s delicious combos featuring
eggs any style, crispy hash browns, and a
choice of pork sausage links, crisp bacon or ham — all with a plate of
two delicious signature buttermilk pancakes, or they can be ordered as a stack
of five buttermilk pancakes as a main course. But either way, when those
pancakes are gone, guests can get an additional serving of two pancakes. And
they’ll keep on coming as long as the guest can keep eating them!
