Blues on Barton 5k to Help Kyla Hartigan, Fund Brain Cancer Research

The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5k begins at 9 a.m.

It's time to lace up your running shoes and get going for a great cause.

This Saturday, Aug. 3, will be the Blues on Barton, Churchill Club subdivision inaugural 5k and kid's fun run organized by subdivision residents Justin and Michelle Sather.

All proceeds from the races will be donated to Karing for Kyla and brain cancer research.

Karing for Kyla is for Kyla Hartigan, a 7-year-old Oswego girl who has cerebal palsy that confines her to a wheelchair. Her family is hoping to be able to install an elevator in their home so that Kyla can move more easily between the floors.

Justin Sather's mother was diagnosed last summer with brain cancer.

The kids fun run, approximately .6 miles will start at 8 a.m. and the 5k run/walk will occur at 9 a.m. and a route can be seen in the attached image. The race starts at 520 Secretariat Lane.

You can register by clicking here and can provide an option donation to either Karing for Kyla or for brain cancer research.
